Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

By: Jason Bailey

Description

This was our attempt at making a casserole that is supposed to resemble chicken cordon bleu. While it is not really the same... it is still pretty good. I think that we could have got some better quality swiss to help it be more like a real chicken cordon bleu. This is a pretty big serving, I would say anywhere from 4 to 6 people. If your cooking for two, it makes for good leftovers.

Ingredients

3-4 Chicken Breasts, thawed
One 8 oz can of Cream of Chicken Soup
1/3 Cup Milk
1/2 lb of sliced Swiss Cheese
1/2 lb of thickly sliced ham (1/8 inch)
1 box of Stuffing
1/2 Cup or 1 Stick melted butter

Directions

In a 2.5 quart casserole dish place the chicken breasts across the bottom to make the first layer. Place the sliced swiss on top of the chicken so that it covers it all. Add the sliced ham on top of the swiss. In a small bowl, mix the milk and the cream of chicken soup, then pour/spread evenly over the casserole. Finally mix your box of stuffing with the melted butter and spread it evenly across the casserole. Place into a preheated oven at 350 degrees and cook for 50 min to 1 hour and 10. You may need to check them chicken with a thermometer or cut into it to make sure it is done. Once the chicken is cooked, it is done. Let it cool for a little bit as it will be hot and it will also help it set up.
